Nursery Curriculum

The Nursery Program at the Emerson Waldorf School serves children who are 33 months old by June 1st or 3 years old by the time they  begin school.

The Nursery program provides a gentle first school experience for young children. The Nursery class is designed to meet the needs of the young child in a warm, home-like environment where children’s senses can open to the beauty of the world around them through relationship-based care, imitation, self-initiated movement and play. The program supports a child’s beginning interest in other children and social experiences as they transition from parallel play into emerging social play.

Children participate in artistic and practical life activities, practice gross and fine motor movement, and develop bodily self-care skills with ample space and time to gain mastery. Learning is nourishing and joyous as children are guided to healthy exploration and creative self-expression.
